Instrument Rating Modular Course
The OATC modular IR (A) course aims to qualify pilots with the required proficiency level to operate airplanes under IFR and in IMC conditions. This will be one of the first necessary steps to transition from a private license to a commercial license.

Theoretical Instruction
84 hours
Flight/Sim Instruction
32 hours PBN Training included
- Hold a PPL (A) license
- Complete ATPL theory.
- Possess a valid Class 1 Part-MED medical certificate (EASA)
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English language according to Part-FCL, Subpart A FCL.055.
- Be eligible for the issuance of an airport airside access card.
The total course workload is 120 hours of instruction, distributed as follows:
IR (A) SE Modular:
18 hours of theoretical instruction;
17 hours of flight in a single-engine airplane;
35 hours of flight simulator (FNPT II);
Night Flight:
5 hours of flight in a single-engine airplane;
CPL (A) Modular:
4 hours of theoretical instruction
15 hours of flight in a single-engine airplane;
MEP (A) Modular:
10 hours of theoretical instruction
1 hour of flight simulator (FNPT II)
6 hours of flight in a multi-engine airplane;
IR (A) SE -> ME Modular:
4 hours of theoretical instruction.
3 hours of flight simulator (FNPT II)
2 hours of flight in a multi-engine airplane;
Schedule:
- The theoretical part of IR(A) Modular course takes place during working hours.
- Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
- * If necessary, it will also take place on weekends from 9 am to 6 pm.
- The Flight Instruction is scheduled according to the Trainees availability.
Duration:
- This course has an estimated duration of 6 to 8 months (approximately), depending on the aptitude and availability of the Students, as well as the weather conditions.
